February and March course highlights

Despite the current restrictions, there are still plenty of courses and training to be found across the county on a wide range of topics

Accelerating Maths 

The East Sussex Local Authority, in collaboration with Newick Teaching School Alliance and the Primary Board are running a range of Maths training from an introduction to the PD spines, Mastery for Support Staff and the structure of a mastery lesson.

Wealden PHSE Hub  

The Spring and Summer PHSE Hub meetings will be held on the 3rd March and the 26th May at 4.15pm via Zoom.  

Josie Raynor-Wells, from Educator Solutions, will be joining the session and her focus at the March meeting will be on Mental Health and Well-being with support for learning on Puberty at the May meeting.

Anspear English CPD 

If you are looking to improve reading, talking and writing throughout the school and across the curriculum, Anspear have published five ESCC modules designed to help you support colleagues, quality assure writing tasks and implement new strategies.

Closing the Gap Training 

Mark Enser will continue to support with strategies to Close the Gap on the 30th March and the 8th June. These sessions are free to members of the Wealden EIP with a nominal charge of £10 to schools outside the EIP.

Governor and Clerking 

Training topics and dates have been released for Governor and Clerking training from now until the end of June.  Find out more here or search our Course Directory.

Subject Leader Training with Niki Thomas 

Niki will be leading us virtually through practical strategies that will support subject leadership on the 13th January and the 10th February from 4.00-5.00pm. 

These sessions are free to members of the Wealden EIP with a nominal charge of £10 to schools outside the EIP.

RE Network for All Primary Schools 

On the 24th March Lat Blaylock will be leading a virtual RE Network Meeting from 3.45pm-5.30pm. There will be no charge for this event and you are welcome to bring your whole staff. Lat will, share a myriad of impactful and practical approaches to RE that can be applied back in the classroom. Contact crivers@st-marks.e-sussex.sch.uk to book a place.
